2 x 5-WEEK SERIES
Part 1: Saturdays, Sept 21-Oct 19
Part 2: Saturdays, Nov 9-Dec 7
10-11 AM Pacific Time / 19:00-20:00h CEST
Hosted by Katie Blecker and Audrey ML
Nervous systems - we all have them. We may even have an understanding of how they work. Nervous system regulation is a popular topic for good reason: we as a society are more dysregulated than ever. The trauma of living in a capitalist, white supremacist, ableist* society leaves so many with limited access to healing practices that can help us re-center and resource ourselves for personal and collective wellbeing.
Disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and burnout can also contribute to the ways we experience stress and what tools are or aren’t accessible to us. Yoga is rich with tools and practices that can have positive effects on nervous system function and help us gain agency over how we show up for ourselves and others. When we explore yoga through its inherent lens of accessibility, we will discover a world of possibility with a plethora of time-tested practices to help us cultivate calm, ease, and resilience.
Join us for one or both series this Fall!
The first sessions of each series will be slightly longer (90min), facilitated in a workshop-style formatthat features educational content on how the nervous systems work and some easily accessible tools for self- and co-regulation. The following four sessions will be an hour each, where we’ll explore a guided yoga practice to integrate these tools and come together for community connection/chat.
The focus of each series is education and experiential practice for nervous system regulation, including down-regulation for folks experiencing chronic stress, pain, etc. Our objective is to create a collaborative space where you can explore different techniques and yogic tools for personal and collective wellbeing. The workshops are intended to provide context for the subsequent gentle, adaptive yoga classes. We aim to provide information in an accessible and easily-digestible way so that you can develop the practices that best fit your own life, circumstances, and needs.
*just a few of the systems of oppression that shape our current world.
